Emmaus Hampshire

Emmaus Hampshire was formed as an independent charity and company limited by guarantee in 1998 with the vision of establishing an Emmaus Community in Hampshire. The Community will house 23 previously homeless people at any one time and will be managed in accordance with the principles of the Emmaus Movement.

The overall aim is to construct an Emmaus Community in Hampshire that is welcoming, inspirational and educational to both Companions and the local community alike. It is important to provide Companions with an environment where they can thrive both personally and prfoessionally and also to provide people in Hampshire with an invaluable resource - a place where they can come to donate and buy quality second-hand goods; a place to chat with friends and Companions over a cup of coffee; a place to learn more about environmentally-friendly living ... and a place where they can really feel that they are making a difference! 

The Emmaus Hampshire team has been fundraising for just under two years in order to raise the funds not only necessary to build the Community but also to cover start-up costs until such time that its business operation of re-use and refurbishment of second hand furniture self-finances the Community.

The website will form an important part of raising the profile of the charity, helping it communicate with stakeholders and fundraisers.
