As you read your way through our site we will throw these statistics at you pretty much ad nauseam:
• 85% of web traffic is driven by the search engines • 55% of searchers don’t go beyond the first page of search results • 85% don’t go beyond page 3 • 52% don’t go back from the first site they find
The reason we quote them so much is because we think they're pretty important to anyone who has a website!
And because it also means that if you want your website to work for you, you need to promote it through the search engines. And that is what search engine marketing is: the technique of placing your site in the search engines across a range of relevant search terms to bring you traffic.
Search engine marketing has two elements: Search Engine Optimisation, commonly known as SEO, which focuses on positioning your site in the natural or "organic" search results; and Paid Search, which is focused on positioning your site in the sponsored listing sections of the search engine results.
This is most commonly referred to as Pay per Click or PPC advertising because of the mechanism employed by the search engines, although there are other forms of paid search advertising as well.
SEO and PPC are not mutually exclusive, but are highly complementary forms of promotion, and your search engine marketing strategy in the highly competitive online environment will generally need to encompass both activities.
We can put together a coordinated search engine marketing campaign for you that will deliver cost effective traffic from the search engines, so why not call us to find out more.
